A case is reported in which a 52-year-old male patient presented to hi
s dental practitioner with several unusual, purple coloured gingival s
wellings, the largest of which was about 1 cm in diameter. A careful m
edical history revealed that the patient had 2 years previously been d
iagnosed as having low-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) Prompt refer
ral led to confirmation of the provisional diagnosis of gingival manif
estation of NHL and early institution of appropriate treatment.
