Abstract
Commitment and Internal-External locus of control measures were given to 200 randomly selected employees of a Veterans Administration Medica l Center 4 weeks before the formal performance appraisal (Time 1, N = 110). Commitment and self-reported performance appraisal ratings were collected 4 weeks after the performance appraisal (Time 2, N = 90). Th e results of hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed locus of control as a moderator of the relationship between self-reported perf ormance feedback and personal sacrifice. External's personal sacrifice was significantly affected by self-reported performance feedback, whe reas internals' was not. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
