Abstract
A 5 W Cw single transverse mode neodymium-doped fibre laser operating in the 1.06 mum region is reported. The silica-based double clad fibre laser routinely achieves 51% slope efficiency when pumped at 807 nm b y a fibre-coupled multimode laser diode bar PumP source.
