Abstract
Rupture of the Achilles tendon, one of the strongest tendons in the bo dy, can cause significant long-term morbidity if diagnosis or treatmen t is delayed. This article discusses the current debate concerning the ideal management of these injuries, as well as their pathology and di agnosis.
