Abstract
The conditions for the determination of arsenic and mercury in coal fl y ash and diatomaceous earth samples using the vapor generation-slurry methodology are discussed. Data for the fraction of the analyte extra cted into the supernatant as a consequence of the slurry preparation a re reported. Calibration is performed using aqueous standards. The res ults agree well with those obtained with procedures based on whole dis solution of the samples.
