Abstract
We report the results of a prospective study of incidence of nosocomia l infection among 248 patients admitted in an intensive care unit in L yon Edouard Herriot Hospital, during 1 year : 37,1 nosocomial infectio ns /1 000 days/patient, 16,5 urinary tract infections/1 000 days/indwe lling urinary catheter, 17,9 respiratory tract infections/1 000 days/ artificial ventilation, 4,2 septicemias/1 000 days/patient and 4,3 int ra-vascular cannula colonization/1 000 days/ catheter.
