Monomolecular films of glucose oxidase (GOD, EC 1.1.3.4) from Penicill
ium vitale obtained on the basis of polymeric matrices were studied us
ing the Clark-type oxygen electrode. The kinetic constants of the immo
bilized and dissolved forms of GOD were compared. The kinetic activity
of the enzyme in monomolecular films was studied depending on the con
ditions of application, measurement and storage duration. The data obt
ained indicate that GOD in monomolecular films formed on the positive-
charge surface (polyethylenimine) has good kinetic characteristics. Th
e sensitivity of the glucose electrodes varied in the range 1-10 mM of
glucose, the time of analytical response was 20 sec. The immobilisati
on of the enzyme led to decreased Michaelis constants (K(M)). The gluc
ose electrodes retain their activity for 2 months at room temperature.
