Abstract
This article describes the synthesis of a new polymer surface-active a gent: a copolymer of methacrylic acid with terpene (alpha-pinene). Res ults are given from investigation of its surface activity at the phase boundary in comparison with polymethacrylic acid. It was shown that t he polymers' hydrophobicity has a significant effect on adsorption of macromolecules at the phase boundary. Hydrophobization of macromolecul es of water-soluble diphilic compounds in the process of synthesis mak es it possible to purposefully regulate the polymers' surface-active p roperties.
