Abstract
The fynbos shrubland communities of the southeastern Langeberg, Cape P rovince were analysed after sampling 97 quadrats in the Bergfontein, R ooiwaterspruit (Garcia's Forest Reserve) and Phesantefontein areas. Da ta were initially analysed using TWINSPAN and the resulting classifica tion refined using Braun-Blanquet (BB) procedures. One Afromontane for est community and 16 fynbos communities are recognized and described. A hierarchical classification of the fynbos communities is proposed.
