Abstract
Experiments are described in which the technique of nuclear magnetic r esonance (NMR) microimaging is used to observe in vivo freezing induce d damage to flowers to Ribes nigrum. An increase in the free water sig nal in the stylar and ovular regions of the flowers was observed after freezing, as a result of tissue disruption in these areas.
