The fractions of poly(methacryloylglucosamine) with molecular masses 7
less-than-or-equal-to M x 10(-4) less-than-or-equal-to 550 were studi
ed in water by the methods of molecular hydrodynamics. The relationshi
ps [eta] = 2.03 x 10(-3)M0.772, D0 = 2.64 x 10(-4)M-0.560, S0 = 3.55 x
10(-15)M0.440, and k(S) = 0.34S0(2.0) were obtained. Hydrodynamic inv
ariant A0 = (3.25 +/- 0.3) x 10(-10) erg K-1 mol-1/3 and sedimentation
parameter beta(S) = (1.1 +/- 0.2) x 10(7) mol-1/3 were also calculate
d. The equilibrium rigidity A0 and hydrodynamic diameter of molecules
modeling macromolecules in solution were evaluated on the basis of the
theory of the wormlike necklace model with the effects of excluded vo
lume taken into account at different values of the excluded-volume par
ameter.
