Abstract
The basic loading modes at rigid layer edges are defined in analogy to the basic loading modes at crack tips. Stresses and displacements at rigid layer edges are uniformly described by stress intensity factors, cyclic functions and non-singular terms. The limit value formulae for the stress intensity factors are given. The plane and curved rigid la yer problem is considered as an example of practical application.
