LEGAL LIABILITY OF THE DOMAIN EXPERT

There are many issues related to legal liability, as well as some ethi cal concerns, that should be considered by anyone assuming the role of domain expert (DE) for an expert system project. These issues should also be considered by the managers who will be working with the DE, as they provide insight into some of the DE's concerns. The DE must be a ware of the potential for personal liability now, and in the future, f or systems that they may be involved with today. Suggestions are prese nted about the ways the DE may approach these problems.
