A 38-year-old female presented with moderate anaemia and a leucoerythr
oblastic blood film. Subsequent investigation showed myelofibrosis in
cellular phase. Her haemoglobin quickly and spontaneously recovered wi
th concurrent serological evidence of recent parvovirus B19 infection.
This is the first report in the literature of parvovirus causing red
cell aplasia in myelofibrosis.
