Abstract
Transient cataracts in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellit us (IDDM) are rare and have been reported only in association with sev ere ketoacidosis or hyperosmolarity.1-3 We present an adolescent with transient bilateral posterior subcapsular cataracts, which developed a fter the recent onset of IDDM without ketoacidosis or severe hyperosmo larity.
