Ni. Gvozdovskaya et Ai. Plis, SURFACE ACOUSTIC-WAVES NEAR BODIES COATED WITH AN ABSORBING LAYER, Journal of applied mathematics and mechanics, 57(3), 1993, pp. 565-571
Waves which occur on the surface of solid, coated with a thin compress
ible layer and which attenuate rapidly with distance from the surface
are considered. The absorbing layer is modelled by a non-classical bou
ndary condition [1]. It is shown that waves can propagate near the bod
y and are localized inside a certain layer whose thickness depends, in
particular, on the mechanical properties of the coating.
