MASS SENSITIVE DETECTION OF SOLVENT VAPORS WITH CALIX[N]ARENES - CONFORMATIONAL ADAPTATION TO THE ANALYTE

Calixarenes have a high molecular flexibility, facilitating an optimiz ed adaptation to the shape of a large variety of guest molecules. Larg e substituents result in conformationally rigid compounds (Figure) but other calixarenes are ideal for coatings exhibiting high chemical sen sitivity.
