LEISHMANIAL POLYARTHRITIS IN 2 DOGS

Two cases of polyarthritis in the dog resulting from Leishmania specie s infection are reviewed. The clinical investigations, laboratory find ings and serological tests are summarised. Leishmanial amastigotes wer e detected in synovial fluid samples of multiple joints with marked in flammatory signs. Diagnosis was made by biopsy of bone marrow, skin an d synovial fluid.
