J. Muller et N. Mielenz, EFFICIENCY OF A SELECTION ON OFFSPRING PERFORMANCES FOR ECONOMIC IMPORTANT TRAITS OF LAYING HEN BREEDING, Archiv fur Tierzucht, 36(6), 1993, pp. 687-693
Data of about 12000 crossbred daughters are included in the investigat
ions. A high correspondence was given between expected and by mean of
simulated selection (splitted groups of offsprings from 582 sires) rea
lised selection gains. The direct selection for feed efficiency is mor
e efficient than the indirect methods, however the superiority is lowe
r compared with other investigations.
