Zp. Camargo et Cp. Taborda, ANTIGENIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARACOCCIDIOIDES-BRASILIENSIS ISOLATEDFROM FECES OF A PENGUIN AND A HUMAN ISOLATE OF P-BRASILIENSIS, Journal of medical and veterinary mycology, 31(5), 1993, pp. 347-352
A Paracoccidioides brasiliensis strain isolated from the faeces of a p
enguin from Uruguayan Antartida and a human isolate of P. brasiliensis
were compared on the basis of their antigen profiles as well as on th
eir serological and immunochemical reactions. By immunodiffusion, both
antigenic preparations displayed total immunological identity, mainly
regarding the specific P. brasiliensis gp43 component. Both preparati
ons reacted similarly with anti-gp43 serum by immunoelectrophoresis. T
he same protein/glycoprotein profiles were visualised by SDS-PAGE and
the same antigen profiles were detected on Western blotting, when huma
n paracoccidioidomycosis sera were used.
