Abstract
The nature of acoustic emission is considered using the averaged equat ions which describe the dynamic processes in heterogeneous media. Esti mates are made of the frequencies and energy densities of the acoustic radiation. The results obtained can be used to interpret the data obt ained from acoustic-emission measurements.
