W. Hiemer et al., FEMOROPOPLITEAL AND FEMOROTIBIAL GREATER SAPHENOUS-VEIN IN-SITU RECONSTRUCTIONS IN NON SELECTED PATIENTS - LIFE TABLE ANALYSIS, Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 34(4), 1993, pp. 303-305
594 non selected ''in situ'' reconstructions were analyzed retrospecti
vely using the life table method. Especially after immediate occlusion
the cumulative patency rate is unsatisfactory (33.1% vs 62.3% after 6
years). Patency rates are influenced by the anastomotic site and main
ly by run off conditions. The number of patent tibial arteries seems t
o be the most important determinant. These results prove to be statist
ically significant.
