Abstract
A new species of the genus Fenestrulina Jullien, Fenestrulina barrosoi sp. nov., is described from the Mediterranean coasts of the Iberian P eninsula. This species is especially characterized by its oral spine n umber (from three to six), with the proximal pair particularly thicken ed, and by its morphometric features. These characteristics allow it t o be discriminated from F. malusii (Audouin), a related and widely dis tributed species.
