B. Marandat et al., A NEW MIDDLE EOCENE (LATE LUTETIAN) MAMMA LIAN FAUNA FROM THE QUERCY PHOSPHORITES (SOUTHERN FRANCE), Geobios, 26(5), 1993, pp. 617-623
The new karstic fissure filling of Cuzal (Quercy, Southern France) has
yielded a diversified small mammal fauna including to date 17 species
among which 7 are new for the Quercy phosphorites. The classical taxo
n Paroxyclaenus lemuroides TEILHARD, 1921 (Pantolesta, Paroxyclaeninae
) formerly known exclusively in the locality of Memerlin (Lot), has be
en identified there. Some elements suggest that the Cuzal fauna could
be Late Lutetian in age (MP 13-14).
