Sb. Youssef et al., CREEP-BEHAVIOR OF AL-10WT-PERCENT-ZN ALLOY WITH DIFFERENT GRAIN DIAMETERS IN THE HIGH-STRESS REGION, Indian Journal of Pure & Applied Physics, 31(11), 1993, pp. 823-827
Creep properties of Al-10wt%Zn alloy were studied using specimens of d
ifferent grain diameters in the high stress range 163-193 MPa. The tra
nsient parameter n was found to increase with increasing grain diamete
r, A decrease in the steady state creep rate was obtained by increasin
g grain diameter according to a Petch style relation. In this high str
ess region, the stress exponent, m increases with grain diameter. This
was explained as due to the transition in climb velocity of dislocati
ons from a linear to an exponential function of stress.
