P. Selvarajan et al., EFFECT OF LASER EXCITATION OR ELECTRIC-FIELD ON THE OPTICAL-ABSORPTION OF QUENCHED AND X-RAY-IRRADIATED TGS SINGLE-CRYSTALS, Indian Journal of Pure & Applied Physics, 31(11), 1993, pp. 838-840
Optical absorption of triglycine sulphate (TGS) single crystals under
a combination of treatments like quenching, laser excitation, ac field
treatment, X-ray irradiation was studied. As-cleaved TGS crystals sho
wed a band at 215 nm, crystals subjected to quenching or X-ray irradia
tion increased only height of the band. Development of a new band arou
nd 280 nm at the cost of the 215 nm band occurred when the quenched an
d X-ray irradiated TGS crystals were subjected to laser excitation or
ac field treatment. Similar absorption characteristics were also obser
ved in quenched, laser excited (or ac field treated) and X-ray irradia
ted TGS crystals which were subsequently subjected again to laser exci
tation (or ac field treatment).
