Ks. Rogers et al., CANINE AND FELINE LYMPH-NODES .2. DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION OF LYMPHADENOPATHY, The Compendium on continuing education for the practicing veterinarian, 15(11), 1993, pp. 1493-1503
Lymphadenopathy is a common but nonspecific clinical finding that is a
ssociated with a wide variety of diseases. It is important to understa
nd the implications of this finding in order to help substantiate othe
r clinical data in veterinary patients. Part I of this two-part presen
tation described the pertinent features of lymph node development, arc
hitecture, and function. Knowledge of the anatomy of normal lymphoid s
tructures and lymphatic drainage patterns was emphasized. The second p
art of the presentation focuses on diseases that have been associated
with lymphadenopathy in dogs and cats. Also discussed are the diagnost
ic tools that are available to evaluate these patients.
