ON THE NATURE OF THE ION-PAIR AS A NUCLEOPHILE IN PD CATALYZED ALKYLATIONS WITH DIENYL CARBOXYLATES

The regioselectivity of nucleophilic attack on unsymmetrical dienyl ac etates depends upon the nature of the nucleophile in which the use of the tetrahexylammonium salt decreases the rate of nucleophilic attack. Equilibration of the products does not occur to any significant exten t under the conditions reported here.
