Abstract
The scintillator elements in X-ray CT equipment of the third generatio n type require high uniformity of distribution of light output as well as quality response characteristic. Parameters responsible for the di stribution of light output were studied using the Monte Carlo method. Although the scattering coefficient was neglected, close agreement was obtained between calculated and experimental results. Calculated resu lts indicated that relative output drop at both ends decreased with in creasing optical absorption coefficient and was constant for X-ray abs orption factor.
