Detailed photoproducts from photoirradiation of heterophasic ethylene-
propylene copolymers and their fractions have been compared by infrare
d spectroscopy combined with chemical derivatization. The oxidized fil
ms were treated with gaseous NH3, SF4, and NO for the rapid identifica
tion and resolution of the various carbonyl species, alcohols, and hyd
roperoxides. The photoproduct formation depends upon the composition o
f the sample. The heterogeneities in thin films were also determined b
