Vg. Revenko et al., CORROSION AND ELECTROCHEMICAL-BEHAVIOR OF ELECTRO ELECTROLYTIC IRON ALLOYED WITH COPPER, Protection of metals, 29(3), 1993, pp. 348-352
A study has been carried out on the corrosion and electrochemical beha
vior of Fe-Cu electrolytic alloys. These alloys were obtained by elect
rochemical deposition on steel St45 from iron electrolytes containing
Cu ions. The electrochemical and corrosion resting were carried out in
various electrolytes. It was shown that the presence of copper in the
alloy leads to a shift in the corrosion potential, and a change in th
e active anodic dissolution current. It was discovered that samples ha
ving an iron-copper coating were less susceptible to corrosion damage.
This effect has been explained as being due to a change in the surfac
e composition.
