Xc. Jian et al., A STUDY OF WET CATALYTIC-OXIDATION OF RADIOACTIVE SPENT ION-EXCHANGE RESIN BY HYDROGEN-PEROXIDE, Nuclear safety, 37(2), 1996, pp. 149-157
The decomposition behavior of cationic, anionic, and mixed ion-exchang
e resins was investigated in the H2O2-Ni2+/Cu2+, H2O2-Mn2+/Cu2+, H2O2-
Fe2+, H2O2-Cu2+, and H2O2-Fe-2+/Cu2+ systems for volume reduction and
improvement in the capacity of the cemented product. The effects on re
action processes and the consequences of many other factors were analy
zed. No radioactivity was detected in the off-gas. The cementation pro
cess of encapsulation of the concentrated decomposition residue could
produce qualified cemented products with excellent properties far long
-term storage in a volume-reduced state.
