The SUNCT syndrome is a recently described headache disorder character
ised by shortlasting, unilateral headache attacks with conjunctival in
jection and tearing. Our report presents a further case and compares t
he findings in our patient with those in the cases described earlier.
In addition, we review the literature and discuss possible aetiologica
l and pathogenetic factors as well as the differential diagnosis of SU
NCT syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia and cluster headache syndromes.
