Abstract
Two new materials are introduced that might serve as useful aids for t he harmonisation of analytical results. Spruce shoots, cryogenically h omogenized and characterized for 50 elements from two sampling sites o f the German Environmental Specimen Bank (ESB) are presented as possib le third generation reference materials that might also act as calibra ting materials in speciation analysis.
