Abstract
Cross-polarization/magic angle spinning (CP/MAS) C-13 solid-state-NMR was utilized to evaluate the extent of hydrolysis and structure of sta rch in enzymatically digested injection molded starch-polyethylene-co- acrylic acid (EAA)-polyethylene (PE) plastic composites. It is a simpl e, quick and semi-quantitative method. Results are in agreement with r educing sugar assays routinely used for measuring starch degradation.
