Abstract
The hard QCD contribution to the nucleon structure functions at x --> 1 expressed in terms of the V - A projection of the nucleon wave funct ion has been obtained in the framework of the quark-parton model in th e infinite momentum frame. Comparison with experiment shows that for a ny reasonable nucleon wave function the data cannot be described by ha rd QCD contributions.
