REEXAMINATION OF 8 TAXA ORIGINALLY DESCRIBED IN LEPTOSPHAERIA ON MEMBERS OF ASTERACEAE

Type material of eight nominal taxa previously placed in Leptosphaeria and originally described on species of Asteraceae were reexamined. Le ptosphaeria anthophila is placed in synonymy with L. doliolum. Leptosp haeria trimerioides is transferred to Paraphaeosphaeria, and L. aulica and L. comatella are synonymous with Trichometasphaeria gloeospora, w hich is based on Sphaeria gloeospora (= L. gloeospora). The placement of L. lasioderma in Dothidotthia and L. derasa in Nodulosphaeria is su pported, and L. derasa forma alpestris is a synonym of Nodulosphaeria derasa.
