G. Asti et al., DETERMINATION OF SPD PEAK AMPLITUDE - APPLICATION TO THE EASY-AXIS DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION OF PERMANENT-MAGNETS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 128(1-2), 1993, pp. 58-66
An operative method for the evaluation of the experimental SPD peak am
plitudes, in the case of multidomain crystallites, is proposed and suc
cessfully tested by computer numerical calculations. It consists in co
mputing the difference in slope at the two inflection points situated
on both sides of the peak (jump in d3M/dH3). The method is then applie
d to the measurement of the easy-axis distribution functions of MnAl,
BaFe12O19 and plastoferrite commercial magnets, allowing comparisons o
f the quality of the degree of orientation achievable by different pro
cessing procedures. The texture determination can be used as a quality
check during the preparation of permanent magnets in order to optimiz
e the technological processes involved.
