We report ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and photothermally modulated f
erromagnetic resonance (PM-FMR) results for the ferromagnetic alloy Nd
2Fe17. Calculations for the ferromagnetic resonance signal with the ma
gnetization in the non-saturated regime are presented. A theoretical m
odel to describe the FMR and PM-FMR spectra of this material in the fo
rm of a non-oriented pressed powder is discussed and fair agreement be
tween experimental and calculated spectra is obtained. Our own numeric
al values of magnetization obtained over a wide temperature range are
used for the PM-FMR signal calculation as well as resonance field and
linewidth from our FMR experiments.
