Abstract
For a better understanding of the properties of bamboo lignin and of i ts delignification mechanism in pulping processes, milled bamboo ligni n (MBL) from Sinocalamus affinis was isolated and characterized by usi ng H-1-NMR-, UV- and IR-spectroscopy, nitrobenzene oxidation and eleme ntal analysis. It is shown that the bamboo (Sinocalamus affinis) ligni n is a GSH-type lignin. Arabinose, fucose and xylose were found in bam boo lignin and a very close association between lignin and polysacchar ides is suggested.
