M. Singh et al., REPAIR OF VENTRAL ABDOMINAL-HERNIAS IN SPITI PONIES (REPORT OF 4 CLINICAL CASES), Indian Veterinary Journal, 70(11), 1993, pp. 1057-1059
The term ventral hernia is used to describe a hernia that occurs throu
gh paanyrt of abdominal wall other than umbilicus or inguinal canal. T
hey may be traumatic or incisional. Various techniques for repair of v
entral hernias in equines have been described (Frank, 1984; Hamilton e
t al., 1974 ; Heinze, 1970 ; O' Connor, 1985 and Scott, 1979). The pre
sent paper places on record successful surgical correction of four cas
es of ventral abdominal hernias in spiti ponies.
