Abstract
The effects of rolling process on the microstructural and superconduct ing properties of Ag-sheathed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconducting tapes w ere investigated. The decrease of the reduction of thickness per pass during cold rolling is very useful in inhibiting the formation of crac ks and improving the critical current density of Ag-sheathed BPSCCO ta pes. On the other hand, the deformation texture resulting from cold ro lling seems dependent on the thickness, but not affected by the amount of deformation in thickness per pass.
