3-DIMENSIONAL FLOW SEPARATION

Separation of three-dimensional flow, although much more common than i ts two-dimensional counterpart, has defied precise description and def inition in spite of numerous attempts. Here, we briefly review the gra mmar that is used to describe various facets of the phenomenon, and us e some recent numerical and experimental results to illustrate the out standing difficulties of the subject.
