The study of amorphization in the Ni-Zr system with a simple instrumen
ted ball mill allows to define a specific milling intensity as the mom
entum transferred to the unit mass of powder per unit time. Taking adv
antage of this parameter, we have optimized the milling conditions for
producing by reactive milling a pseudo-alloy, the microstructure of w
hich provides a hardness higher than that measured on materials obtain
ed by classical routes.
