Abstract
Molar pregnancy has not been reported in women past the age of 57 in t he English literature. This report reviews a 60-year-old woman who pre sented with irregular bleeding and was diagnosed as having a complete hydatidiform mole. The patient underwent hysterectomy and had spontane ous return of her human chorionic gonadotsopin levels to normal. Diagn osis in this age group depends on a high level of suspicion, and hyste rectomy should be considered due to the high risk of postmolar gestati onal trophoblastic tumor after suction uterine evacuation.
