Abstract
We report the first observation of the laser-induced fluorescence (LIF ) excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra of the A B-1(1)-X 1A1 transition of germylene radicals. GeH2 and GeD2 radicals are produced in a supersonic free jet by the ArF excimer laser (193 nm) photolysis of phenylgermane and phenylgermane-alpha-d3, respectively. The progres sions of the v2 bending vibration appear in the LIF excitation and dis persed fluorescence spectra. The vibrational assignment is carried out from the deuterium isotope shifts. Molecular constants are determined including anharmonicity terms.
