Abstract
Magneto-optical bistability in diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd1-xMnx Te is realized. The bistability is created by the giant Faraday effect in Cd1-xMnxTe and the saturation characteristic of the magneto-optica l feedback system. The bistability characteristic depends on the orien tation angle alpha of the polarizers of the Faraday modulator and on t he temperature of the sample.
