Hp. Li et al., PARALLEL-PROCESSING FOR POLYNOMIAL EVALUATION WITH A NOVEL OPTICAL INTERCONNECTION - THE INVERSE PERFECT SHUFFLE, Optics communications, 103(5-6), 1993, pp. 350-354
A new optoelectronic hybrid numerical system for the parallel processi
ng of polynomial evaluation is presented. A new free-space optical int
erconnection, the inverse perfect shuffle (IPS), is adopted. For optic
al implementation of the inverse perfect shuffle, a special polarized
prism was designed and used; the inverse perfect shuffle can make the
polynomial evaluation operating time minimal, which is proporational t
o log2N.
