Abstract
Using quantum beat detection the characteristic features of a dressed two-level system have been observed in a double-resonance experiment. It is shown that splittings and shifts of the detected quantum beat si gnal resulting from the ''dressing'' effect of a radio-frequency field have a specific dependence on the radio-frequency phase, field streng th and detuning from resonance. The effects are demonstrated for a hyp erfine two-level system in a rovibronic state of the excited electroni c state 3A2 of the (CS2)-C-13 molecule.
