Abstract
A theoretical analysis is presented of nearly degenerate multiwave mix ing in quasi-equilibrium semiconductors, including many-body effects. Multiwave mixing coefficients are expressed in terms of the single-wav e susceptibility and its derivative with respect to carrier density. T he theory is illustrated with parameters appropriate for bulk GaAs inc luding the many-body effects of band-gap renormalization and Coulomb e nhancement.
